How much is a cab ride from Ft. Lauderdale Airport to South Beach? |
Travel Info I am visiting South Beach and I am flying into Ft. Lauderdale Airport. Travel Tips I work information at Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) and get asked this question 10 times every day. The option chosen most is our on site shuttle service, Tri-County Airport Express which runs shuttles directly from FLL to South Beach for only $18 per person. You may have a maximum of a thirty minute wait until the shuttle leaves and it may drop off about 9 other people along the way, but it is certainly the best option. A cab will run you about $70 and will fit up to four people. A private car (limousine) will run you ironically a few dollars less than $70 and will fit about the same amount of people. The Tri Rail service is also a good option if you're on a tight budget. However, you must keep in mind that you have to walk from the terminal far to the bus stop, wait 45 minutes or more for the shuttle to the Dania Beach Tri Rail station and then wait 30 minutes or longer for the Tri Rail. Once you're on the train, you have to take it South to the MetroRail transfer station. Then get on the MetroRail (another train) and then take that to the Government Center Station. Once you're there you have to take a Miami Dade County Bus (MetroBus Route C or K) to the intersection of 5th and Washington where you then have to walk in the heat to your hotel or residence. Summary: Airport Express shared ride is the most convenient and economical and it will drop you off IN FRONT OF your hotel while you enjoy the A/C for only $18. Look for the white desks outside of each terminal labeled "Ground Transportation" and talk to the guy in the red and white shirt, or reserve online at www.floridalimo.com. Happy Travels! Source(s): FLL Airport Ambassador Other Travel Tips it's more than an hour drive. I guess you have to pay 100$ It's better to rent a car. It is approximately 28 miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport to South Beach. It is $4.40 for the first mile and then $2.40 for each add'l mile, so the cost will be about $69.20 plus lets say about a $3 tip, you are looking at about $72.00! If you are planning on spending some time here I would recommend renting a car, that is the easiest way to get around! Have fun and be safe! I called Yellow Cab Taxi (954) 777-7777 $75 - $100 You take a shuttle. There are several competing shuttle companies from FLL to SoBe. You can do a Yahoo search for Ft. Lauderdale airport shuttle. They will run about $35.00 for one, or about $30.00 each for people travelling together. It will cost a bit more going back (different companies) . A Cab will run more than double that; but if there are three of you together that may be a better deal. It will certainly be faster. OR -- if you are really on a tight budget, are not carrying too much lugggage, its not after 10 pm & can afford about 3+ hours: Take the shuttle bus (I believe it's now free) to the nearby "Tri-rail" station. For about $3.00 you can take that to Miami, get off at the Metro-Rail station; transfer to Metro-Rail ($1.50 plus $.25 for bus transfer) to downtown Miami "Government center," & there transfer (Info booth at the exit) to the "S" bus (slow local) to the east side of South Beach. Get off at street closes to your hotel. |
