What not to Wear?

OK, I'm packing for my trip to Miami, staying a week. What is the summer style in Miami? Looking to go out to the clubs, eat at some nice restaraunts, as well as hang out at the beach.

What should I pack? Jeans, Dress cloths, tshirts, polos, button up, plaid (lol)...

I'm a straight man, who likes to "dress to impress"...

Jeans with a nice shirt, sandals and sunglasses are fine for hanging out at the cafes. At a club you can wear dress pants or jeans with a nice shirt or t-shirt and dressy shoes. The t-shirt should not be raggedy or touristy (no, i love miami). Miami is casual but stylish. Do not wear sneakers. Please no white socks unless you are playing sports. Dress socks should match your pants. Shorts are okay on the beach but too casual for other places. Some guys wear plaid shorts with polos but it's to UM for me. Bring a summer jacket you can wear with pants or jeans in case you need one. No ties required. A white long sleeve buttoned shirt goes well with everything. But, my best advise is to pack light, bring a credit card, and hit the SoBe boutiques. Don't forget the sunblock!

BEST WEAR IS THE UNDER WEAR.
Simple but high class fabrics, "Tod" shoes without socks,pls and a designer belt. Avoid flashy colours (Hawai-style,lol) and pack a Tuxedo (you'll never know)...
kind of agree with maddona_toller,but,

wear the shoes with socks(quarter lemgth socks or shorther,the one You already have, but no one see them, they are the best)

the hawai-style is also Miamian but ,without the "flamboyant-colours", let say ;same shirt but ,in very serious colors.

do not wear shorts ,if You not gonna swim.
Only wear shorts if you going to the beach.Jeans at night unless you going to a really nice place than nice dress pants is what you need. For the nice clubs a button down shirt and pants will do with nice shoes. For some more laided back clubs Jeans and a Color and even just a tee shirt will be fine, but since your a tourist and dont go anywhere often jeans and a polos should be the most underdressed thing you should wear at night.
For hanging out at the beach just wear what ever you want. Miami Beach is very chill during the day and than becomes the world class, world famous night life at night.
Bring nice clothes for dinner dine outs, but bring t-shirts and bating suits for the beach, make yourself comfortable.
