South Beach is a great place for couples since it has such great nightlife, but it's not bad if you have children either. Any hotel right on the beach is great, because most have a pool also.
During the day there are alot of activities you can do with the kids besides taking them down to the shore. You may want to visit Parrot Jungle Island, Miami Seaquarium, MetroZoo, Monkey Jungle or Miami Childrens Museum. If you decide to go out at night, the kids would enjoy going to Bayside Marketplace or Coconut Grove almost as much as you will.

The Hotel of South Beach is pricey, but offers activities for the kids, has poolside bars, spa, fitness center, and anything else you could think of.

I am from Miami, South Beach during the day is sort -of family ok..but generally speaking it is a yougner persons playground, clubs, drink and fine dining..not exactly the place for kids and all that...

Try Coral Gables for family fun atmosphere :-)

I live on Miami Beach and I think between the 3rd and 8th street, you can go to the beach with your family, it is the quite part of the Beach. Before 12pm. the beach is quite calm and nice. During the week, the beach is quite.
