Miami International Airport to Miami, Beach??? |
Travel Info I have an all day layover in Miami. Will it be a hassle to go to Miami Beach from the airport? What is there to do there with a 14 year old? I would love some insight......1) How much to grab a taxi from the airport to Miami Beach? 2) Points of interest? 3) Good restaurants? 4) Where should the taxi let us off so we can foot it for the day? I know it's a lot of questions.....thanks for your help! Travel Tips DONT TAKE THE BUS! IT WILL TAKE FOR EVER. Public transportation is a weak spot in Miami. If you have 6-7 hours to waste than get a cab and take it to Miami Beach, if you want the beach and food tell the cab to take you to 8th and Ocean Drive. If you want more shopping and people watching and alot of different restaurants tell the cab to take you to 17th and Washington. Both of these spots are in the heart of Miami Beach and it is no more than a 7-10 minutes walk from 17th and Washington to 8th and ocean, you can get all around the south Beach area of Miami Beach very easily on foot. Cab rides will be about $30 each way but wont take longer than 45minutes in the worst traffic. A bus will take at least an hour each way with no traffic. TAKE A CAB! Source(s): Miami resident. Other Travel Tips I am sorry ,I am 2 hours late,I was out. take the free shuttle from the airport, to hollydays inn in Coral Gables ,and walk around the Miracle Mile. just in case ,the metro bus letter"J" goes from Coral Gables to Miami Beach and You may take it in the first floor of the MIA airport ( south is Gables ,North is the Beach)also in the first floor is the taxis ask for flat rate to South Beach,(may be 25 or so.) all the concierge of the hotels in the airport area ,may help You with the city tours one day. if You have luggage ,You may stored at the airport ( one day is not that expensive) I know You will love me....( for this advice) I love You too......have nice day. for South Beach ... take the metro bus "7" (airport's first floor)to down town Miami, and then the "S" to south Beach. return by viceversa. but ,I am still advocate You about the "Miracle Mile" |
