Amtrak runs daily from New York to Montreal and vice versa. The train leaves New York at 8:15 am and gets into Montreal at 6:30 pm for the cost of $64.00. Obviously, the major disadvantage of this mode of transportation is that it is a 10 hour ride and takes a whole day. But unlike a bus, there are electrical outlets (so you can watch a movie or work on your laptop), you can get up and move around, and there is a snack car! Though no matter what mode of transportation you pick, you will get spectcular views of upstate New York. Source(s): www.amtrak.com Other Travel Tips i'm not very familiar with transportation from nyc to mtl, but here a few suggestions: 1) sometimes you can hitch a ride with someone: http://newyork.craigslist.org/search/ccc... 2) although this is not the cheapest way, it is one of the safest ways you can choose & you can sometimes find great deals: http://www.greyhound.com/ 3) try checking some airlines, you'll be surprised to see that some offer cheaper tickets depending on the time & day... good luck =) Grayhound is supercheap (I think last I checked it was $56 each way). Amtrak is about $85 each way. Believe it or not, but flying can be as low as $100 each way. Try www.sidestep.com for the best price! |
