Looking for hotels and things to do in Montreal for a family with small kids.?

Travel Info
I'm looking for something that will work with kids and I would like something that has a kitchenette so we can cook.
Also if anyone has some ideas of what we can do, it will be late May when we arrive. My kids are 5 and 3 so we were looking for a few things to do that they would also enjoy.

Thanks for any input. It has been 10 years since I lived there and I am out of the loop altogether. My husband has been wanting to go since we met.

Travel Tips
My number # 1 recommendation would be to do the Biodome, next to Olympic Stadium, phone 514/868-3000;www.biodome.qc.ca... Open daily 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., most months of the year (check the website as the Biodome does close some Mondays ). It only takes a couple of hours but is not to expensive and is quite nice.

Their is also the Insectarium about a half mile walk away inside the Botanical garden. Like the Biodome it鈥檚 open daily (with some exceptions) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (check the website before you arrive just to be safe). You can buy a pass for about $30 that will get you into Insectarium, Olympic Tower, and Biod么me.

If your kid is into science, their is the science center down by the water. Your hotel can get you a flyer.

If your kid is into art and museums then check out the Museum of Fine Art (Musee des Beaux Arts), 1379-1380 rue Sherbrooke Ouest at rue Crescent, phone 514/285-2000; www.mmfa.qc.ca.
When you go in the front doors you will see ticket counters--Don't go to them, walk over to the right, you can put in a small donation take a sticker and see 98% of the museum. (The expensive tickets at the front counter just get you into the special touring exhibit). The Museum is on both sides of the road with a tunnel under the street.

Use the Metro. Montreal has one of the worlds nicest and easiest to use subways. For a kid it's an amusement ride. (Taxi's are not badly priced either)

As to where to stay. I like the Marriott Residence Inn because it is centrally located. The price includes breakfast. It has a small indoor pool. But I think any 3-4 star hotel on Priceline with a pool would do fine.

Have fun, we take our kids up to Montreal (from Vermont) a couple times a year. (and no, I don't speak French, and that has never been a problem)
Others
Biodome, Insectarium, and Botanical Gardens. There is also 6 Flags on Ile Ste-H茅l猫ne. Cirque du Soleil will be there, but your kids might be too young. Tourisme Montr茅al has a web site:
