Travel Tips
The underground city isn't really a mall in the American sense, but it is rows of shops. However, the central city, like in the states, is surrounded by malls. The closest to downtown are Agrignon Mall (reachable by the m茅tro), Rockland Mall on the north side and Anjou/Langelier Malls at the junction of the 40 and 25 expressways. But why the h*ll would you come to a city like Montr茅al to go to a mall?

For food you should treat yourself to at least one fine meal at a Quebecois French restaurant. And for another meal enjoy a famous Montr茅al smoked meat sandwich. Our version of pastrami brisket, but it is leaner than New York's and almost all people who know both versions think it is better. Avoid poutine (a mix of frites and cheddar cheese curds topped with hot brown beef gravy) unless you want to die sooner of clogged arteries.

The English-speaking near west side of downtown is where Americans usually stay (and make noisy weekend fools of themselves), for a much better experience stay someplace in the more French-speaking (but still bi-lingual) east and northeast side. Most of the best clubs and shops and restaurants and bars are there (Little Burgundy, Plateau, Mile End, Park Avenue and Quartier Latin neighborhoods) as is the currently-throbbing music scene. Montreal also has several outstanding museums.
Others
There is a mall in Montreal referred to as the "underground city". It can be accessed by Metro or a series of buildings downtown(such as The Bay).

Eat bagels. Montreal bagels are unique and amazing. Bagel shops are located nearly everywhere so it shouldn't be hard to find some. Also, poutine is good tourist cuisine. If you are less adventurous then I would suggest a smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz's or the Snowdon Deli.

Club Vatican and Jet are popular and well-regarded Rn'B clubs. Newtown is a more relaxed lounge-type experience if that is what you are looking for. Sleeman's Pub is also a worthwhile venture, in my opinion.

Have fun, it's a great city!
One word.
