Places to watch montreal firework festival?

Travel Tips
From La Ronde (the amusment park) is the absolute best. You can pay for tickets and have seats or just stand near the lake.
The Jacques-Cartier bridge is a really good place if you don't want to pay to go into La Ronde. 脦le Sainte-H茅l猫ne is good but I find the bridge tends to get in the way.
You can also watch them from the old port of Montr茅al or from the park near the Longueuil metro.
Other cools ways of watching the fireworks are to take a cruise or go kyaking (http://www.bougex.com/fiche_sceance.asp?...
If you're not at La Ronde, don't forget to bring a radio to hear the music (105.7FM, I think) Source(s): Been there, done that.

YAHOO is A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION!
There are three places I recommend:

1) From Jacques Cartier Bridge. The bridge is closed to traffic on nights when the fireworks festival is held, and pedestrians all go up to watch the show from there.

2) On St. Helen's Island, you can spend the day at La Ronde (Six Flags) and then find a nice spot on the island to sit back after dusk and watch the show.

3) At the piers section of the Old Port of Montreal. You can have supper in the old port, stroll down to the riverside along Rue de la Commune or Promenade du Vieux Port.

Just be aware of pickpockets and keep your wallet or cash out of sight. Any time you have crowds that may be bumping into each other, odds are good that a pickpocket may be working his craft.
Back in the late 80's, I used to work at La Ronde as a ride operator (pr茅pos茅e aux man猫ges) when our uniforms were pale grey with a thin red stripe; I used to operate Le Moulin De La Sorci猫re and L'Astronef and then the Minirail, the T茅l茅ph茅rique (cable cars), The Maelstrom, The Butterfly, La Spirale and even a few rides in the kids' area for a while, not to mention Le Palais Des Glaces and, last but not least, The Boomerang before I messed that ride up, lol!

But that was almost twenty years ago when La Ronde was run by L'AMARC and not by Six Flags like it is now.

Every summer, Benson & Hedges held their International Firework Festival right from La Ronde Marina so I had front seats to the whole event every single day that they were being held and for free too since I worked there.

We all had to stop the rides so people were forced to watch those amazing fireworks, so to speak.

And amazing they were, I can assure you!

So I'm with that guy right above me: go to La Ronde to admire that unbelievable display!

Have fun & good luck to you!
