Travel Tips
Saint Catherine is a very long street that runs east-west in Montreal. In the downtown core, this is where you will find the main malls and shops. Crescent actually intersects with Saint Catherine. It's a short north-south street where you will find the primary "tourist" bars and clubs. By far the most popular area for partying in the city, however, it Saint-Laurent street north of Sherbrooke. It's about a kilometre east of Crescent, and this is where all of the locals hang out. It had more of a french flavour.

As for hotels, it depends on your budget - there are TONS of decent hotels. Check out the map I've provided where I've marked down a large number of major hotels:

both are located in the heart of downtown montreal and no matter which one you choose, you'll have a blast!
