What province is Montreal in? How do I find a person's phone number in Canada when I live in the U.S.? |

Let me get this straight because your story has a lot of strange holes in it. You claim to be engaged to be married to a man who moved to Canada, and he did not give you his address or phone number there? Then (since a move like that takes weeks or even months to get settled), he never phoned you back in all that time for you to tell him that you would also be moving and that you will have a new address and phone number too? Where do you live in the USA when the operator is not familiar with Montreal or how to dial Canada? It is a pretty large city and most phone companies have lists of the cities on their computers. They might have asked you "Do you mean the city of Montreal in Canada or the one in France?" but they should not have needed to ask you the province. I typed "Montreal" in Google and it immediately went to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. As for locating your "fiance", I checked the name Vanitsky in the phone directory for Quebec (www.canada411.ca) and not a single one popped up. He either is unlisted, does not have a phone, or is not in Montreal. You can tell your operator that there are very few area codes for the province of Quebec. We have 514 (Montreal), 450 (suburbs of Montreal), 418 (Quebec City), and 819 (rest of the province of Quebec). She can try to find Mr. Vanitsky in any of these zones.
