Visiting montreal? |
Travel Info i'm coming to montreal next week and i would like to hear some ideas on places i should hit up for shopping. i'm 17 & a girl. any places i have to go to? i'm going to be right downtown. i want a new bookbag for school too if theres any ideas as to where i should get that. thanks! Travel Tips Try these places: Centre Eaton http://centreeaton.shopping.ca/cambridge... Les Ailes de la Mode http://www.lesailes.com/en/accueil.htm... Promenade de la Cathedrale (Kind of sacrilegious but they have a large mall built beneath this church) http://www.waa-ap.com/an/projetsan/udp/c... And if you walk up and down either Sherbrooke Street or St. Catherine Street, you will find all sorts of boutiques and businesses. Sherbrooke Street is a bit like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills...we have some museums with expensive art studios, jewelry stores, and clothing shops mixed in. St Catherine Street is a more down to earth section for the average person and a lot of people set up stands on street corners to sell home made jewelry, or to make caricatures or sketches. Others Steve N's advice is good but if you are American be prepared for higher prices than you are used to, plus a 14% tax that is no longer refundable. There are also many smart boutiques located in the rue St Denis area, just a few subway stops away. (I am a Montrealer. We go to Burlington Vermont to do most of our clothes shopping). |
