Is Monteal a great city for a single female?

Travel Info
I went to Montreal last year just to get away from being in New York. I fell in love with the city, the culture, everything. I am thinking of moving up there if I decide not to stay in the States. Is it a good city for a single female to live at? I can't speak French (only can speak English and Spanish)... will it be tough to find a job over there? And from what I experienced some of the men over there are good looking. You think they would like a New Yorker? Thanks in advance.

Travel Tips
If you move to Quebec, the government will pay for you to go to FSL (French second language) studies so you can learn French. Also, after be immersed in the French language, you will pick it up fairly quickly. Once you learn French, it will be very easy to get a job because you're trilingual. And I don't need to explain how amazing Montreal is because you've already been.

Good luck!

Yes, I'm sure. I met a New Yorker in Montreal. She's a great girl, I enjoyed being around her. You could learn French, so it wouldn't be a problem. I went to Montreal to visit a friend or two maybe three just last month and the city was interesting. :D
If you know spanish, some of the verbs and phrases are similar, as both have some basis in latin. It may make it easier to pick up the new language.

Example:

- At what time? (En)
- A quelle heure? (Fr)
- A que hora? (Sp)

You can take night courses to learn French, and I think the government will either pay for it or subsidize it.

As for finding a job, it all depends on your skills. There are jobs IT jobs available and many do not require French unless the computer firm is dealing with companies in Quebec. You could also look at being a Spanish tutor or teacher, or do translation for a company that deals with Mexico or South American companies.

As for being a single female here, you will probably meet a lot of guys here in the bars and clubs. You might get hit on but if you can deal with that, your in great shape! :)
How are you planning to get a Canadian Work Permit?!?

And what are you going to tell Customs & Immigration Officers once you arrive at the U.S. /Canadian border?!?

A pack of lies???

And you don't even speak a word of French???

Forget it sweetheart!!!

Good luck to you though!

It sure looks as if you're going to badly need it, lol!

Oh and one last thing...

It is a great place for women who are of the more liberated type, with much, much less of American style sexual hypocrisy and more tolerance for women not afraid to be openly free. For example, there is no controversy here about pharmacy shelf access to morning after pills.

(One of your Christian radio station networks has put up a station right at the border in Champlain, NY, in order to try to save us.)
