Where can I eat in downtown/Old Montreal that are good for eating alone or outside? (For a business trip)? |
Travel Info I am going alone on a business trip next week to Montreal, and I would like to find great places to eat in Montreal where I won't feel awkward eating by myself. Others Montreal has many great places to eat. One that I personally like the most is in the old port. The old port is so beautiful, you can find many different cafes and restraints. The food is good to. Another idea would be to take out food and go eat by the water and enjoy the view. I understand the problem , because I'm single and live part of the year in Montreal; The area where there are many Outdoor cafes are : Place Jaques-Cartier: Personally , I do not go there because , the places are packed with tourists. In Old Montreal, I like eating at the Bar of Hotel St.Paul, the food is excellent and not too expensive , especially Lunch time. A younger crowd hang out in the restaurants of Crescent Streets. Also there great places at the beginning Of St.Laurence, north of Sherbrooke. Personally, I enjoy sitting at the bar of Pied de Couchon. You see the excellent food being cooked in front of you. Also they have good wine and excellent beer from micro breweries canadas most elegant resturant is mcdonalds..... The short answer: ANYWHERE. Montreal isn't like the uptight anglo world where you have to huddle in groups. Eating alone in a restaurant here wouldn't even get you a bat of an eyelash... We're the capital of live-and-let-live in North America. Now, general tips: Crescent Street offers you a myriad of options that I'm sure would suit you. St-Laurent street (from Sherbrooke to Mount Royal) is funkier with a whole variety of options too. Eat and enjoy! Montreal is a great place for this! |
