Where can I see Wild Wolves in Eastern Canada?

Travel Info
Particularly In the province of Quebec.

Travel Tips
The number of wolves in Quebec is still rather shaky at best. There are the occasional sightings, but the chances of seeing one on a weekend getaway are slim to none.
Northern Ontario has a rich population of wolves still, particularly in Algonquin National park. If you were to go onto the Quebec side of the border in linewith algonquin, there may be packets of natural wolf populations there as well....I guess around the Abitibi region would be a good place to start looking.

Others
In the Haliburton Highlands there is a wild wolf preserve where sightings are very common..In Ontario @ 2 hrs. north of Toronto
Try the Laurentides or any other wildlife preserve or provincial park (wilderness type)
Unfortunately wolves are officially extinct in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia (although there are still frequent sightings reported) but recent evidence is suggesting that the coyotes of New Brunswick are actually a different species of wolf. A coyote-wolf hybrid, having shared a common ancestor about 300,000 yrs ago. If you want to view wolves in the wild it could be tricky, and I wouldn't advise going out alone (think: BEARS) but there are actually a few places that offer wolf observation packages. You have a chance of seeing wolves in most provincial or national parks in Quebec, Mont Tremblant is probably the best closest place.

Just outside of Haliburton Ont. there is a wolf sanctuary. I've been there. It's awesome.
