Whats the cheapest way to get from YUL airport to my downtown hotel?

Travel Tips
The cheapest way is by bus.
It stops at the Train station and bus station , near Berry.
Depending where your Hotel is and amount of luggage, you could maybe walk to you hotel, or take a cab from there.
I think the bus fare cost $11 Canadian to go downtown

Which hotel and by what method of transportation?
Take a bus from the airport, charter bus. They run every half hour or so and go to most downtown hotels...even if not directly to your hotel, it will be very close. Cheaper than a cab. Unfortunately, subway doesnt goto airport.
You can take the municipal bus system which costs $2.50 but it is extra effort.
This link explains the process fairly well http://travelchannel.igougo.com/planning...

Here are the schedules for the two buses

Unless the downtown hotel has a free shuttle bus (unlikely, but worth asking), the cheapest is the city bus.

Look for the 204 busstop, direction Dorval terminus. I'm not sure that's exactly what is says, you want the one that DOESN'T say "Fairview". When you get on, put the money in the bin-thing--the driver will NOT give you change. (It's probably possible to buy a strip of tickets in one of the little shops in the airport.) Driver will give you a little bit of yellow paper--that's your transfer.

Go all the way, I think it's one or two stops all in the airport, about 5 minutes. When you get off, take the 211 bus, direction Lionel-Groux Centre-Ville. It's probably the one with the longest line-up. It's a bit behind the part of the station with a big shelter (from the point of view of the buses coming in). Show but don't give the driver your transfer.

The 211 goes one stop straight downtown. Get off and follow everyone else to the metro (subway) station (Lionel Groux). Stick your transfer into the turnstile and press a button on the box-like thing near the weird tree to get a new transfer. (bigger, white) Go down one more flight of stairs and take either the green line direction Honor茅-Beaugrand (Queen Elizabeth, Hotel du Parc, Delta, Sheridan) or the Orange line--I think it's still Direction Henri-Bourassa (no they couldn't have come up with two more similar names!)--might be Direction Laval now (Intercontinental, Bonaventure, Chateau Champlain, Holiday Inn Palais du Congress) .
I lived in Montreal until five years ago. Took the bus a lot at the time.
Walking, or hitch hiking would be the cheapest way. I wouldn't recommend it though.
