Travel Info
Hi Am visiting montreal this weekend. Can anyone sugget what is MUST SEE places and things to do. Also are there any other places apart from montreal but in and arround surrounding areas

Travel Tips
bonjour. welcome to Montreal. lots to do and some depend on the weather. if it is raining -- choose rather to go to place des arts -- for a show or a museum (musee des beaux arts -- on sherbrooke street west, corner crescent street). if it is nice sunny weather and you have a car --drive up north to st. Adele and enjoy the lakes -- Quebec has over 100,000 lakes.true not all in and around Montreal. go also to the mount royal -- inside the city, which is the peak of the mountain. you can bike or jog too. have a look at st. Catherine street --west and enjoy the shopping underground specially if the weather is rainy. here are some of the things you do. in all cases...drop to crescent street for a meal and see who is who. not being sure of how long you will be staying i guess that will take care of a long week end. enjoy.

Others
There's this place on the west of town at the end of the subway along the river called Habitat 45 (I think its 45). It's a really weird complex of apartments, basically you need a map to navigate it.

Also, the society of art and technology has some really cool events.
There are really good French restaurants in the old section of town. The main street is also fun to walk down. Oh my, I've forgotten. I was there about 13 years ago. Have a great trip!

Visit the following: The old port, Notre-Dame Basilica, The Olympic Stadium. I'm proabably forgetting so many other attractions but those are the 3 big ones.
I'm a montrealer!
First of all, it's Habitat 67 and it's not located on the west side of the town but on a little island south of Montreal called Notre-Dame Island. In the same area you could go to the Casino and then visit the beautiful Ste-helene Island (Where the LaRonde amusement park is). Now in downtown Montreal, you could visit museums such as Pointe-A-Callieres, go shopping. A must-see is the Old Montreal or the Old Port. You can also visit the Olympic Stadium located in the east end of Montreal and the Mont-Royal Park, just north of downtown. If you want to go outta town, Mont-Tremblant could be an option with the great scenery. Have a great trip in our beautiful city!
