Travel Info I'm from London. Will I like Montreal? I can speak French.? Travel Tips Everyone loves Montreal. Make it clear that you're from "Londres" and not "London" (I presume). "London" is in Ontario. Neither England nor Ontario is particularly popular in Quebec, but England definitely has the edge on interesting. You may find the Quebec accent (in French) hard to understand, but that's not because it's bastardized, it's because it's different. Bon voyage! Source(s): I'm from Montreal. Other Travel Tips Sounds like you will fit in just fine. You will be able to talk to everyone. I have never been to Canada, but if you go with an open mind, you are sure to find good in all things. Bon voyage. Who can say. We went there and I loved it while my husband did not. To each his own. I found it to be an elegant city Canadian french is bastardized french you may not understand anyone the french they speak is a slang Oh, yes. You'll love Montreal, particularly in summer because of all the festivals. They shut down the centre of town and hold these large festivals --- the comedy festival, the jazz festival for example. The comedy festival has a week in English and week in French. It's a totally bilingual city, one of the most beautiful cities anywhere -- and I've lived in Seattle, (US) and Sydney, (Australia), both gorgeous places. |
