Going from Toronto to Montreal: Will train journey better?

Travel Info
I have come to Toronto for official work for 1 month. Now on Sunday I have to go to Montreal and come back on Monday. Obviously I will not get time to see around Montreal. But if I go from Toronto to Montreal by train instead of flight, will it be a beautiful journey? I mean to say will the train go through places with natural beauty?.... And can anyone tell me the most important attraction in Montreal that I should not miss if I have some time on Monday?

Travel Tips
Go by Grayhound bus, it's cheaper, however, expect to travel for at least 7 hrs., or so, give or take. You see more and you can rest more comfortably. It costs only $75/ea way.
You must see Old Montreal on Monday as well as St. Denis Street. Many shops, as well as good restaurants. Start out from St. Catharines St. and keep going as far as possible. The Metro is superb for getting around the city and can take you anywhere you please. They have underground shopping in the downtown core if the weather isn't too good. St. Catharines St. is the place to see everything and be seen. Bon Chance! have a wonderful time in beautiful Montreal!

Others
I'm sorry... you don't have enough time to see Montreal. It requires multiple weekends to see the sights. I recommend a walk through old Montreal... to start. Go to CAA and pickup a tourist information booklet and maps. CAA is all over the GTA, their must be one near you.

If you go by plane... you will have more time to see the sights.
by train is actually boring, you don't get to see much of beauty.......I would suggest flying, and spending more time in Montreal, it's a beautiful city.
as much as I love train travel, I have to agree with the others. your time is better spend in Montreal - a wonderful city. I've been there dozens of times, and I still find new things to love about it.
At this time of year the train is a lovely trip. The leaves are in fall colours and the train is very comfortable.

To fly to montral you have to get to the airport about 1 1/2 before the flight, take and hour to get there, a 1/2 hour to get out of the airport and 1/2 to get downtown. The train you hop on and it takes about 4 hours to get there. Train is cheaper too. If money isn't an issue take the first class car - its awesome. There is also wireless internet on the trian if you need to do any work.

I took the train to Montreal and then to Quebec city at this time last year, it was gorgeous.
no, not at all, the route from montreal to toronto is extremely boring by train. mostly flatland. occasionally a farm.
