Visiting Montreal, Need a Hotel?

Travel Info
I am heading up to Montreal via my car for an open house at McGill University. I will be in the city for the weekend. I am willing to drive to the campus; I am more interested in being near the nightlife. I am gay and would prefer to be near the village. Looking for decent, cheap, private rooms in or near these neighborhoods. Suggestions?

Travel Tips
I highly recommend this place. We go every year. It is near everything you want. It is near the village.

If nothing else turns up the Marriot Residence Inn is just a few blocks from McGill. price includes Breakfast . (parking is extra) Once you are in Montreal you don't need your car , best Metro system around.
There is a whole section of charming European-style hotels in converted greystone homes located just a few blocks west of the Gay Village. And it is an easy trek by Sherbrooke St. bus or by m茅tro to McGill.
Me. A Montrealer.
