Is there any way to get HBO and SHOWTIME in Montreal? |
Travel Info I am moving from California to Montreal and want to be able to watch HBO and Showtime - does anyone know how this can be done? It seems Canadian satellite and cable providers don't offer these... can anyone help? Thanks! Travel Tips The Canadian government is a b!tch about HBO and Showtime. They actually banned it. Can you believe that? It's true. They banned it because they said there would be too many American channels on Canadian TV. It's called the CRTC, and the monitor what is shown on Canadian TV. They are not available in Canada. You can not even get onto the website for Showtime from Canada. They block it out. You can watch HBO and Showtime shows on TMN (The Movie Network), which is a private channel that not all cabel and satellite companies in Canada offer. You have to pay monthly for TMN channels. It sucks ... welcome to Canada. Thankfully I'm moving to North Carolina from Toronto soon =D Others I live near the boarder (In Thunder Bay, ON), so I am able to get both through my cable.... I know my parents (live near Toronto), have HBO through one of those really old, big, black satallites. It costs them an arm and a leg american to get it though. |
