Has anyone been to Montreal , my 17 year old son went their with his school mates for March break ,I'm worried |
Travel Info something bad will happen , why do people worry more then others .He's my only child . Travel Tips I concur with 'Relax, Mom.' People I went to high school with routinely went to Montr茅al in little groups (I'm in Ottawa). Nothing bad _ever_ happened, and I mean nothing -- not even a car broken into, let alone anything bad happening to the people themselves. (And, come to think about it, I was in Mtl recently, and it was still very clean and very safe. This downtown near the strip clubs, too.) 17 isn't all that young. He'll be fine. Others Unfortunately, it becomes party central. Just hope he doesn't drink too much, misbehave too badly, or drink and drive. Otherwise, he'll probably be just fine. A rite of passage unfortunately. There is nothing wrong with Montreal. Yes, we may have a younger drinking age (18...isn't that the age you become an adult) but don't worry. It is a very safe city in terms of crime. I just hope he can understand a little french. Montreal is a good city and people are polite and helpful don't look for trouble and he wouldn't find any. by the way bars are open to 3:00 AM so montrealers like to drink and do so if I were you I wouldn't worry if he came to have fun, then he will have. It is very natural to worry, esp. when our children go new places and do new things. Cities in Canada are relatively safe (compared to cities in some other countries), and I am sure you have raised him with that "mom voice" in his head! Relax Mom, I am sure he will call you, too! ((((hugs))))) there's nothing wrong with going on a school trip to montreal. i graduated from high school already, but every year, there's a trip to montreal. your son should be fine |
