Travel Info I want to know the coste of life in quebec and in particular in montreal can you helps me please? Travel Tips Hi hhbb, Here are some examples: - Minimum wage in Quebec: 7.75 per hour - Apartments in Verdun: $500-700 per month - Apartments in NDG: $800-1100 per month - Cost of food in March 2007: Milk 2% - $1.51 per litre Bread - $2.59 per loaf Eggs - $3.00 per dozen large Hamburger - $7.25 per Kg for medium Apples - $2.84 per Kg Gas prices: $0.994 to 1.094 per litre this price varies daily Public transit: $65.00 for monthly pass pass is good for bus and/or subway system Source(s): Cost of food can be checked here: http://magasin.iga.net/index_en.html... Buying a house? This is a list of houses for sale in Montreal: http://www.mls.ca/map.aspx?areaid=369... The daily newspaper may give you ideas of costs for rentals and local important news: http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/in... Other Travel Tips It's pretty standard compared to other cities, a little cheaper then Toronto though. Minimun wage is about $8 and you can get a nice appartment for about $600-800/month depending on the area. Downtown is more expensive of course, if you stick to the suburbs it's cheaper. I live in MTL Less expensive perhaps however it is the most highly taxed province in Canada. Nice to visit, would never live there. It is one of the most affordable cities you can imagine Rent is about 500-600 for an apartment, usually everything included for that price transport is 65 per month In groceries usually it may be around 30 per week Petrol just went up to like 1.07 per litter What else? yes there is a high tax here compared to rest of canada but still you can have a great life and have everything here with a decent job, unlike other places in the world where you may struggle financially |
