What are the top 5 Things to do while in marrakesh? |
Travel Info Going to Marrakesh for only 2 days =(. Trying to figure out where and what to do, was hoping if I could get some ideas. Thanks allot! Travel Tips I left a link that provides great info. There are so many things to see, you should spend at least 3 days in Marrakech. If you can afford it, treat yourself to a stay in a Riad so when you return from a hectic day amidst carpet salesman, fire jugglers and noisy souqs, you can relax and have a cup of mint tea in a nice quiet courtyard. Check out the site I am also going to Morocco at the end of the year and it will give you info on ferries and all that. Good luck! Source(s): http://goafrica.about.com/od/moroccotopa... Other Travel Tips Ride the Marrakesh Express. OK i found you 5 top things to do in 2 days here they are 1- the first place to visit is jemaa lefna it will take you at least a whole afternoon to satisfy your eyes 2- take a horse cab and have a look of one hour around the city center 3- go to elkoutoubia mosque which is close to the first place i mentioned but it's better to visit it in the evening 7h to 8h 4- the second day spend a morning in elmnara it's very nice place.... 5- the last thing to do is to take a cab and ask for city fathma it's 1 hour drive from Marrakesh and u can see the water fall it's really beautiful the last thing is to get back to your country with a beautiful memories & pictures I would definitely visit: 1) Jamaa el fna (outdoor marketplace). It is the historical center of Marrakesh, filled with snake charmers, sorcerer, herbalist, merchants...( horse-drawn carriages are an excellent idea as suggested above) Make sure to see the Koutoubia mosque. 2) The beautiful gardens such as: Agdal, Menara and my favorite Majorelle (Yves St Laurent's gardens). 3) Marrakech museum: 19th century palace turned into an exhibition hall that displays arts and crafts. 4)The medersa ben Youssef is an interesting monument to visit. It is an old koranic school that'll give you insights on Arabic architecture.Other architectural treasures such as the Saadians tombs and the Madrasa ben Youssef. 5) Chez Ali a dinner show experience featuring a fantasia with horsemen, belly dancers and fireworks **with such limited amount of time I would definitely invest in a tour guide. **take a moment to chill and drink a cup of mint tea the national drink **if you're a night owl there is a great nightlife. I would recommend Le comptoir (hype bar), Theatro a trendy disco and the Buddha bar. Good luck and Have fun !!!! Born and raised in Marrakesh Go to the Jmaa el fna during the day to see the magicians, smake charmers etc. You could then go to the Medrasa ben youcef from there by going through the market. You could then visit the Koutoubia mosque nearby and perhaps walk in the nearby streets and gardens. For the second day you might want to invest in going up to the atlas mountains for one day. I cant remember the name of the place I went to but it was a 1hour and a half drive from "bab el reb" by taxi. It consists of 7 waterfalls and you walk up them but you wont be able to see them all in half a day. Honestly though it was a great experience so I would go there for one day even if your only staying for two days. Other things to see include some palaces which I also forgot what theyre called and the menara garden (go there at sun set) |
