Travel Tips
- Morocco has a lot of restaurants, but outside of cities like Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, and Marrakech, there are few foreign restaurants. In those cities (and perhaps a few others), you can find Japanese, French, Italian, Chinese, even Indian. The most popular foreign food in Morocco is probably French, followed perhaps by Spanish, American (fast food) and Italian.

-There are McDonald's in 8 cities in Morocco, KFC in 2, Pizza Hut in 5 or 6, and allegedly, there is a Dairy Queen in Casablanca, though I have never seen it. There are also independent Moroccan-owned restaurants that serve American fast food cuisine, such as hamburgers, fries, and even hot dogs.

-Breakfast is typically pastries (Moroccan or French), orange juice, and coffee or tea, and can cost from 10dh to 50dh, depending on where you are and how nice the cafe is. Lunch can run from 15dh to 100dh, and dinner from 15-20dh and up. When I travel to other cities and eat out all day, I typically spend about 70-80dh in a day for food - breakfast as described, tajine for lunch and brochettes for dinner.

-McDonald's is slightly more expensive in Morocco, but the difference is minor. The food is nearly the same, although there are things here which they don't serve in the US (the McArabia sandwich, for example). There is a dollar menu, called the "Dirhamabrouk" menu, and everything on it is 10dh. It has shakes, fries, and I think a small sandwich of some kind. It is not entirely the same as the one in the U.S. Source(s): American in Morocco.

There is McDonalds in most of the major cities. KFC in a few of them. The prices are the same as in the USA.
In places like Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat you will find other cuisine besides Moroccan.
Most local restaurants are cheap especially once you convert the dollor/pound/euro.
If you ate in local joints (I am in Agadir) for 3 meals a day you could do it on 70 dirhams per person.
-There are all kinds of restaurants, especially in the larger cities. I have seen French, Italian and even Chinese food, besides the usual Moroccan cuisine.

-There are McDonald's here, Pizza Hut, Dominos and KFC in the larger areas.

-How much you spend depends on where you go. There are high class restaurants that will definitely cost you more than the little snack place that serves burgers and Chwarma. If you eat at the smaller places you can keep it cheap. My hsuband and I go to a little place in Rabat and it costs us about 26 dirham each to eat there (about $3). That is actually a little expensive.. if you look around there are cheaper places than that, but we love it there.

-The McDonald's we go to is similar to the ones in the US but the menu is a little different. There is no dollar menu at the 2 I have been to, and the prices were slightly higher than what I paid in the US. I was surprised at the prices actually, because they are very expensive compared to the other places you can eat at here.
