Vacation in Marocco?

Travel Info
I'd like to go on vacation to Marroco, biut since I've never beeen there and don't know the country all that well, I'd be glad if someone could tell me where are the best places to go, to visit etc. Thx.

Travel Tips
Well, obviously opinions will differ on this, but my personal favorite places to visit are:

-Marrakech: no visit to Morocco is complete without a stop here. It's an incredible, vibrant city, full of history (and tourists) - and probably Morocco's most liberal city, if nightclubs and the like are your thing. Be sure to check out Djemaa al Fna, Menara, Jardins Majorelle, and the Gueliz area, and of course, the shopping in the medina is the best!

-Fez: Morocco's most refined city. Fez has the world's oldest living medina (Islamic city), and many crafts like the tanneries are still alive and well. This is the best place to buy leather, visit sites of Islamic architecture (though non-Muslims are not welcome in mosques, they can visit some medersas - Qur'anic schools and gardens), and just explore.

-Asilah: My personal favorite beach town, in the north, about 45 minutes south of Tangier - very quiet except in August, when Moroccan families vacation here.

-Essaouira: My second favorite beach town, closer to Marrakech, but very windy. The city still has remains of some incredible Portuguese ramparts. Windsurfing is popular here.

-Meknes: Near Fez, it's worth a stop, and it's close to sites like Volubilis (Roman ruins) and Moulay Idriss (possibly Morocco's holiest city, which has the only round minaret in the country). Meknes itself was the capital under Moulay Ismail, and his grand architecture still exists.

-The desert: Merzouga and Zagora are the most popular places from which to visit the dunes. Merzouga's Erg Chebbi is the largest.

-Azrou: A lovely Berber town south of Fez and near Ifrane. Few tourists visit here, and the giant rock the town is named after (azrou means rock in one of the berber dialects) is capped with a crown!

Morocco's a great place to visit, I highly recommend it. Here are a few sites that might help you out:

depends what you wanna see.
The Atlas mountains are awesome- ginormous!
Also Marrakech and Agadir are quite nice with some nice beaches just sligtly West.
It is a great country, if you can speak French/Arabic that will help. Don't get involved with drugs unless you can really trust the supplier. Be prepared to squat between your ankles ;)
Visit High Atlas and Anti Atlas Mountains there breathtaking

There are many wonderful places to visit in Morocco. Marrakesh is probably the most popular tourist destination because you can see a little of everything there. You can stay at a high class hotel, or a cheap one. You can eat at the best restaurants or you can buy simple but yummy foods from street vendors. You can see all kinds of different crafts being made and sold and you can experience different cultural entertainers. The architecture is also amazing there (and actually all over the country...). Some people prefer the Atlas Mountain area where they can ski one day and visit the deserts the next. In Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, you can see many historical landmarks and shop in their great souks. Some tour groups also have access to the Royal Palace area (you cannot enter the actual palace but you are allowed on certain areas of the grounds). There are also beautiful gardens in Rabat and a few small museums. Casablanca is a nice city too and has the Mosque of Hassan II, which is actually open to non-Muslims to visit (only one other mosque in Morocco allows non-Muslims to enter)

If you plan to visit Morocco, please be respectful of the culture and religion here and plan to dress modestly. There is no need to cover your head, but it is best to avoid shorts, short skirts, tank tops and any tight or revealing clothing. Also, be prapared to haggle over prices in the souks, it is actually expected by the merchants. Keep small money on you at all times for taxis and small purchases, and wear comfortable shoes.

I could go on and on about Morocco, so if there is more you would like to know, feel free to email me. There is a link on my profile.
