I'm doing a french project and I need help from anyone who's been to casablanca, morocco. I've 'booked' myself at Hotel Central, and I'd like to know if Rue Chaoui is a walkable distance from Hassan II mosque or if i should take a taxi.

I take it you mean Rue Chaouia? You'll definitely have to take a taxi to the Hassan II Mosque. It'll cost about 15dh, I'd guess.

What kinds of things from vendors? Food? A bottle of Coca is 5 dh, a Snickers bar is 5 dh, a small packet of nuts can be had for any amount, but 5 and 10dh are the most common denominations. You can get a tajine for around 25dh in most places.
