Anyone know how long flight from US to Morocco would be? |
Travel Info Not sure of exact landing airport. Any good stuff for sale as souvenirs? What kind of prices? Are costs similiar to what we'd pay in the US for t-shirts, etc? Do they sell jewelry at the bazars? Travel Tips Paperclip's an idiot, Morocco isn't dangerous. From New York to Casablanca is approximately 6 hours. T-shirts are not popular souvenirs in Morocco, outside of Marrakesh anyway. You'd be better off buying traditional crafts (leather, jewelry - mostly silver, at least for traditional styles, clothing, blankets, and woodwork are all popular items). And in most shops you must haggle - so there's no set cost for a t-shirt, but I'd say between $5 and $10. Others Yeah I flew into Casa Blanca. Morocco is really cheap, although its pretty dangerous, especially at night, and especially for women. I suggest travelling with someone. The flight is like 10 hours depending on the city you fly from in the US. You will pay a lot less in Morocco, but it may cost you money to bring it back into the US. It depends on where you leave from. From East Coast connecting through London, its about 15 hours. Costs are much cheaper.. but you can only get bargains if you really barter. You almost have to have a guide and speak Arabic or Berber. You will find more deals on jewelry than t-shirts... though you can get the tacky things in the bigger cities. depends where you depart from. we just went there in March. on the way there we flew out of JFK. it was an overnight flight -- 8 hrs. on the way home it was 10 hrs. thing are cheap but learn to barter as already mentioned. also, give a price you will pay and stick w/ it. if they don't budge start to walk away. it's a good chance they will call you back & agree to your price. lots of awesome jewelry. learn the phrase ....... la shokran ( no thank u ) |
