Going to Morocco should i buy vodka/gin here first? |
Travel Info Or is it cheaper to buy there. is it easy to buy there. how about tonic water is it easy to find there? Travel Tips If you want a specific selection get it here, but if you dont care you can get it there. The thing is in Morocco, in order to buy alcohol you must either go to a supermarket where they have great selection or to a kiosk where they sell on near neighborhoods and restaurants. Best place to buy alcohol is in the supermarkets.Tonic water is everywhere over there. Source(s): Im from there. Other Travel Tips You can buy these things in Morocco but I have no idea of the prices. I am Muslim and do not drink. You are going to a predominantly Muslim country where drinking is completely against the religion. Yes, the Moroccan government does allow the sale of these things in some locations, but with disapproval of many of its residents. Just a thought... I am not sure how you are entering the country, but you may want to look into customs guidelines about such items. Certain things are forbidden to be brought into the country. Sorry I cannot help you more with that, I don't use these things so it's never been an issue for me. EDIT: Ther first posted deleted his answer. He basically said Morocco is a dry country. He must have realized his error. Don't drink vodka; it's nasty. The Russian Navy use it to cure radiation poisoning. Enough said. You can always get the ferry from Tangiers to Spain and from there pop over to Gibraltar, but I'm not sure if Gibraltar is as cheap as it used to be, booze-wise. The King of Morocco is a very liberal Muslem, and is encouraging tourism, so I would imagine that it would not be necessary to buy in UK That first poster is entirely wrong! Morocco is not alcohol-free. I would say it's better to be on the safe side and just buy it in Morocco - I believe that there are restrictions on carrying it in. All Marjane supermarkets carry alcohol, as do a few other chains (but NOT Aswak Assalam, that supermarket is alcohol-free), and there are usually small shops in each larger city that sell alcohol. If you're planning to drink it in your hotel room, that's no problem, but think twice before going outside intoxicated. I agree with Nomadic, Morocco is not alcohol free you can buy alcohol almost on every Hotel or NightClub in every big city. Additional to Marjane, Acima sells it too |
