Places to visit near mumbai?

I have a one weeks holiday coming up next week and plan to travel out of umbai, but to places close by.. i will be travelling with my husband and my 2 yrs old daughter.. could anyone let me know good places, good resorts.. anything which would be relaxing and a lot of fun

You haven't mentioned - where you are coming from? If you would like to visit beach side, Kashid & Alibaug / Kihim beaches are good ones. You can take your family for a 1 day trip to Esselworld / Water Kingdom - enjoy water rides there. Relaxing options are Lonavla -any hotel/ resort like Fariyas which has swimming pools and couple of water rides. Karnala brid sanctury on Mumbai-Goa road.
