Where are the fun bars in Munich?

I will be going to Munich for the first time next week and I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the best nightlife is. I will be staying in the city center. According to google earth there appears to be a bunch of bars in the area of my hotel (best western cristal). I am 27 and will be going solo, so I want to hit up some lively bars with a 20s age crowd. Does anyone have any first hand advice?

I am in Germany-

Munich nightlife is either grungy, gay or glitzy, with areas (parts of Schwabing, G盲rtnerplatz and Maximilianstrasse respectively) of the city for each.

For late fun, you could do worse than Eat The Rich (Hessstrasse 90, 185982), on the corner with Schleissheimer Strasse just west of Schwabing. Retro Harlander (Br盲uhausstrasse 8, 2324 1652) is more stylish.

The smart set mix at Schumann鈥檚 Bar Am Hofgarten (Odeonsplatz 6-7, 229060) and at its branch at Maffeistrasse 6 (2421 7700) in the F眉nf H枚fe mall.

With the honourable exceptions of the Atomic Caf茅 (Neuturmstrasse 5, 228 3054,http://www.atomic.de/) and Pacha (Maximiliansplatz 5, 309 005 0850, http://www.pacha-muenchen.de/c_pacha-eve... after-hours nightlife is typified by the glitzy discos on and around Maximilianstrasse.

For unpretentious post-midnight kicks, head for the industrial complex known as the Kunstpark Ost, or KPO, near Ostbahnhof. Here you鈥檒l find two dozen bars and clubs, few with a dress code. The Kunstpark Magazin will give you all the latest tips.
