They just managed to clear off most of the riots by restoring their parliament, but I wouldn't suggest it because the maoists are still on the rampage.
wait for some weeks till all the disturbances and strife has ended though democracy has been partially restored there.
Any time you visit another culture it expands your world and makes you a more educated person. I would without hesitation. Have a great trip. But then I was told I was crazy for visiting Pakistan last year.
