Travel Tips I usually buy mine about 2 1/2 months before leaving and even then most seats are taken on the cheaper flights so would imagine the later you wait the less expensive flights will be gone by then. Just never took a chance like that. Others Im in the UK and its always cheaper to buy flight tickets months in advance. they tend to get more expensive the longer you leave it. If you look at any of the cheap airline web sites you will see that you can book a flight really cheap in say 6 months time, but if you look at the flight prices for the next few days they will be v. expensive. Always months ahead. Buying tickets say in the summer months usually double in price versus buying tickets in Jan for the same time frame. It depends i think mostly on who you are flying with, i like continental, in November i checked on the price of my ticket (im going in two weeks) and the ticket was 700 aprox. then i checked again in February i didn't have the money to buy the ticket in November and the price was 900+ and i was like holy **** but still not bad and now its 872 so it went down some. so you never know. You are better off buying in advance, ticket prices go up closer to the flight date. Also if you are going to do some travelling by air while in Europe, check European sites or just buy the tix overseas, you'll get a better deal. It is often cheaper to buy a few months in advance or only a few days before you leave. Right now there are flights with British Airways to the UK for about $250 and from the UK there are very cheap flights to Amsterdam for about 25 pounds. (I am going to take these flights 2 weeks from now because these are the best rates) www.britishairways.com |
