What is the best coffee shop in Amsterdam? |
Travel Info What is the best coffee shop in Amsterdam? Travel Tips Bulldog palace! Abraxis, or the rookie...where you can play pool. all good choices. Others That would be none. Avoid the coffee shops in Amsterdam, since they are aiming at tourists. For the "real" dutch coffee shop experience, go to any other city, and ask the locals. Utrecht for example is only 30 minutes from Amsterdam by train, has a lovely city center and one of the oldest coffee shops with the best "coffee": Sarasani. For playing pool there is "de Wolf" on the laan van nieuw guinea, run by moroccans and with a lively and welcoming crowd of insiders who would love to challenge you for a game of pool or pinball. I preferred Styx and La Tertulia; La Tertulia is really gezellig, but I like the location of Styx because there's an excellent pastry shop a block away with fabulous applestreudels! I've been to Amsterdam; that's my source. There are so many coffee shops that it's very difficult to say which one is the best. It really depends on your preference. Some sell really good stuff but the coffee shop itself looks like crap. There's a competition every year, the cannabis cup. They choose a winner on different points. Here's the website with last years winner, the Green house. http://www.cannabiscup.com/ht/cancup/... my favs are the bluebird and dampkrig. there are plenty to choose from, trust me. barneys is good to, they serve food and their breakfast is to die for. oh and right down the street from the bluebird is this awesome pastry shop, stop by there when you've got the muchies!!!! visited a'dam 3 times |
