Travel Info Do Dutch people actually wear clogs, the footwear for which their nation is so stereotypically famous? Travel Tips Rarely! We had one guy in high school who wore them, he's the only one I've ever seen wearing them in school, town, etc though... those who still wear them wear them only on the farm, they usually put on shoes when going to town. And even farmers often wear shoes or boots nowadays. The oldest picture of the clog is from the 15th century, the clog was common from around that time until the first half of the 20th century, when rubber boots and workshoes replaced them for many people. Others Apparently so. yes some do, we have dutch lorry drivers arriving where I work with goods all the time, and they're always wearing clogs. i think so I have never seen a Dutch person wearing clogs when im in holland Of course, every one in Amsterdam wears them! LOL And i bet you have never travelled out of your county. Ignorance is bliss. |
