Amsterdam Hotels? |
Travel Info Can anyone recommend a reasonably proced hotel in Amsterdam close to Dam Square and the nightlife? Travel Tips The prices really depend on your stay, when and how many nights. The first website you can fill in in which area, like dam square, you want to stay. The second you can sort easier on price. http://www.booking.com/city/nl/amsterdam... http://www.easytobook.com/nl/ There's really no need to stay in the city center. They're nightbusses all night and you can rent a bike. It's easy to get around the city on a bike, you will see so much more. Hotels in the city center are more expensive and the rooms are usually smaller unless you'll stay in a fancy hotel but that will coast at least 150 euros a night. Source(s): Living in Amsterdam, native. Other Travel Tips The bulldog is pretty reasonable. http://www.bulldog.nl But, there are quite a few hotels near damn square that range from 40-80 Euros a night for one person. As soon as you leave Amsterdam Centraal, just walk up that main drag towards Damn square. Hotel Winston www.winston.nl runs around 45 euros for a single and 56 for a double. Hotel Groenendael is another www.hotelgroenendael.com with singles for 35 euros and doubles for 50. You can always check out this website... http://www.booking.com/city/nl/amsterdam... That's how I found the hotels in my recent trip to Amsterdam (a month ago). I stayed at Armada hotel (kind of like a B&B), but b'fast is good, view is nice and the most important thing is the tram station is just oposite the hotel...so convinent. Honestly, Amsterdam city center wasn't that big, I can actually walk from my hotel to Dam Square in about 10 mins time and from Dam Square to Central station it's just another 5 mins....all are walking distance. Hope its help and enjoy your trip. I don't really like the center city area as a place to stay. for super-budget * walk ups there are several on raadhuistraat that aren't to bad. I stayed at the Hotel Ronnie in 1992 when I was a poor college student. the hotel sint nicholas (sp? at spuistraat 1a) is a nicer hotel in a better nitch of the center city but is pricier. I actually usually stay near wetering-schaans and it's convenient to the musuems, nightlilfe, and everything else via the trams. |
