What are the top three things to see in Amsterdam in One day? |
Travel Info I will be travelling to Holland and have one full day to spend in Amsterdam. Can you tell me the top three or four things to see? Many thanks. Travel Tips If you want other things to do apart from those other "interesting" places listed, you could see Anne Frank's House, I found that was my favourite thing to see in Amsterdam. I also went to the Van Gogh Musuem, but due to my lack of artistic knowledge I was out in 20mins....some of the paintings were really cool as I do like van gogh stuff, but apart from the 1 room, other things were of other people and of no interest to me. Just walking the canals are quite cool too. Others Go to the red light district and smoke hashish in the Hill Street Blues coffee shop that is in the same building as the police station. At night there is a live sex show and you can watch a couple having sex on stage , their is the Cannabis museum, the art museum, the tattoo museum, the sex museum and you can ride the boats in the canal and tour the Henikien Beer factory. Prostitution is legal and they sit in their little places and each has a different interior decorator but no photos allowed Been there The Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh museum, the heineken factory. Then retire at Coffee Shop 22 if you want to chill or The Grasshopper if you want a coffee shop and club atmosphere. Its a great little city and you can walk most everywhere. Van Gogh museum, red light district, anne frank..... the anne frank house's line was long as hell when i was there so unless u have time just walk bye..... but u should do a canal tour on one of the boats.... its takes you through all the spot downtown the fastest and tells you where everything is.... then you can hit whatever you want again when you get off. The Rijksmuseum, a coffee shop, and the Anne Frank house. The last two seem to be requirements. Although if you go to a coffee shop you probably won't make it through anything else, you'll just wander around the city (I actually had to leave the Rijksmuseum...too much stimulation...). The Anne Frank house had an ENORMOUS line when I was there, and it was October (not exactly tourist season) and raining, so if it was crowded then it must be crowded all the time... |
