Could you please tell me some places worth visiting in Utrecht and Amsterdam? |
Travel Info i am going to spend my summer close to Utrecht and Amsterdam and i would love to know some places to visit (not so much of pubs, clubs, but touristic atractions, buildings and so on..) Travel Tips Not too much going on in Utrecht (a few shopping malls) but Amsterdam is a different story. It's a must to see the Ann Franke House. You also must go to the Van Gogh and Rijks museum to see a lot of famous paintings. Take a canal boat tour. Sip a cup of coffee at an out door cafe. For a laugh walk through the red light district. Source(s): lived there for 5 years Other Travel Tips The Netherlands is a very small country... The city and province of Utrecht are considered the geographic center of the country... It's an hour or less from there to half the country, two hours or less to most of the country and no more than three hours to any part of the country travelling by train. Dutch train and other public transport services are very good, go pratically everywhere but can be crowded during rush hour... Here's a site where you can see which trains go where and when... http://www.ns.nl it's in English too, but you have to click the link at the top of the page... Most public transport runs from about 06:00 to 08:00 AM in the morning to about midnight or 01:00AM in the evening. The four large cities have a round the clock train service and there's 24 hour city public transport services on weekends in the largest cities. ...more to come later, have to go to the store before it closes, sorry... i live just outside of utrecht and it's a very nice city, you should go on a tour to climb the Dom, it's a church bell tower, very nice. you can walk around utrecht and just enjoy the sites, take a canalboat tour. the best thing is that when the weather is great, you can eat at one of the hundreds little restaurants down at the canals right next to the water, it's really really nice. amsterdam is a whole other experience since it already has it's own reputation so there, you can go to anything you can think of really, just walk around there and explore, take a boattour. enjoy your stay |
