Living in netherlands with 1400 euros, possible? |
Travel Info hi all recently i've been accepted in an academic program in netherlands which's wage is 1400 euros every month, since Im moving there with my partner and none of has work permit, is it possible for us to live a comfortable life with this money? necessary to add is we'll be living in campus so we dont have to pay for housing. Travel Tips Is that before or after taxes? Minimum wage after taxes in Holland is two or three hundred less than that... Depending on what you consider a "comfortable life" but considering you don't have to pay any rent (and energy/water bills?) that should definitely be enough for two people to live on... Might not be enough to drive a car too though, maybe a very small/cheap one? Gas and parking is VERY expensive in Holland... But traffic and parking are a problem anyway and public transport is pretty good so that shouldn't be too big a problem... I think driving a car costs at least 鈧?00-鈧?00 a month, including taxes, gas, parking... But it all depends on you priorities of course and on how much travelling you'll be doing... 鈧?0 a week for groceries for two is a bit low I think, 鈧?0 a week each is more realistic in my opinion... Others as long as you dont have to pay for housing, those money should be enough. weekly shopping for 2 is not more than 50 euros. i think you have more than enough!!! good luck! lived there Depends on your comforts. But in principle yes. Good to hear that you don麓t have to pay for housing. The Netherlands are not as expensive as most EU-countries, on the other hand, there are so many temptations. Avoid partying too much and try to live an ordinary life, but if you are paying for your partner too, it will perhaps be difficult. If it turns out too difficult, try to get a work permit for one of you when you are there and have got acquainted with the country, good luck.Take all the documents you think you need with you, if you think one of you has to apply for a job. Another thing, CONGRATULATIONS for the Academic program, I envy you. yes i think you can make it, i live of less money with my son, and i do pay rent...best regards from the netherlands wow, that is a great deal, but ask if the 1400 is before taxes are taken out or after, if it'safter than it's cool and you are cool, also, ask if you are insured for health, else it will cost you a lot more it also all depends on the style you are used to , but i guess you are comfortable with anything not too fancy since you gonna life on campus.housing is payed, also gas, electr etc??? cause than you really are set, good luck and enjoy your stay |
