What is the weather like in Northern Netherlands at the end of June/first week of July?

Travel Info
I plan on being there from June 30 to July 5th. Mainly Leeuwarden.

Travel Tips
It will probably be between 20 and 30 degrees celsius, or somewhere in that neighborhood... We could also have another sudden heatwave, like we've had quite a few of over the last few years, and in that case temperatures may go well over 30. On the other hand, it could also be horrible weather with rain and temperatures below 20...

The closer you are to the sea, the cooler it is, the difference between the beach and inland can be as much as 10 degrees celsius, or even more in extreme cases. It's always several degrees cooler on the coast.

The average temperature from June 30 to July 5th over the 1971 to 2000 period has been between 12 and 22 degrees but we've pretty much set a new record high every year since... The Royal Dutch Weather Institute says it will probably be average or slightly better this year from June 30 to July 5th...

Today it's about 18 degrees on the coast and a national high of 27 pretty much in the Leeuwarden area... It's likely to get a bit warmer over the next few weeks so be prepared for anything between 15 and 35 or more if it gets real extreme...Which is a very realistic possibility as we just had the warmest spring in 300 years and the warmest winter before that and the warmest fall before that so this could very well also be the warmest summer ever measured in the Leeuwarden area...It will not go over 40 though... at least that would really be extremely extreme... Other Travel Tips
Taking the size of the country into the equation its probably going to be the same as for the middle and south of the country.

Watch the Euro-news weather forecasts.
Usually it is pretty decent weather.

Temperatures vary between 18 and 30 degrees (centigrade) and usually dry and sunny.

When you go more inland / down south you may encounter warmer weather, but considering you will be relatively close to the coast, the temperature will be a bit milder.
