Amsterdam coffeeshops?? |
Travel Info Going on a 16 day excursion through Germany and ending in Amsterdam. Best coffee shops in Amsterdam?? I have heard that some places really rip you off. The differences between all the different kinds of bud they offer? I know that Nenderhash is hash made in the Netherelands. What about Sativa and Indica? Please answer only if you have been there and if you have a REAL answer. Thanks so much in advance. Travel Tips This is the best piece of advice you will get if you want to the best possible coffeshop experience. When you get to Amsterdam search out the Smoker's Guide to Amsterdam. You can find it in about half of the coffeshops, just ask for it. Its a 4 euro little book that will be your tour guide through the grass scene. It is worth every penny trust me. Also a few shops NOT to miss: Barney's Breakfast Bar (have breakfast there), Grey Area, Abraxas, Dampkring - all esteemed cannabis cup winners. I would recommend staying away from the big chain types ie Bulldog & The Grasshopper. Have fun! Check out www.SmokersGuide.com Others If you stick with the larger shops (i.e. Bulldog), their prices are pretty standard. All shops have a price list for the various kinds of bud, so you can comparison shop. http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/eur... Here is a great place to check find out about coffee shops. It is an Amsterdam forum only but there are others for different countries if you care to check them out and the questions are answered by locals or people who have been there. There is a huge section of coffee shops with reviews on different shops and warning on which ones are not that great. There are quite a few recommendations as well with names and address. I even saw a menu on there once. Good Luck I'm guessing that if you're going from Germany to Amsterdam that you'll be going through Dutch towns like Arnhem and Utrecht. You could get off the train at one of those places and buy a bunch of weed at a cheaper price than in Amsterdam (although the price difference might not be worth getting off the train). I would recommend a stop in Utrecht anyway. It reminds me of a li'l Amsterdam, it's a cool city. I would try every kind of bud you can get ahold of, it's all good. The hash is alright but the bud is so potent that it pretty much suffices by itself. As far as the different kinds of bud - they pretty much have what you want, what you would see in High Times magazine. It's all really REALLY good, just with different names for different strains. Try all of 'em. (P.S. It's not really a rip-off, a gram of weed there is half the price or less of what you'd pay for the same weed in the U.S.) Bulldog,Free Adam . Were my favourites. Well, most coffee shops you'll find on Nieuwmarkt or Uode Hoogstraat.( City Center ).Don't buy any drugs on the street, they are cut ,not clean and most of the time a rip off. So,hit the coffee shops, and some of them even carry a " Menu ". Been there a couple of times. Enjoy and have fun and you will have fun :))) My advice... if you are looking for a more touristy place with decent buds, go to Bulldog or The grasshopper (located at the entrance of the RLD). Another great one is Grey Area...great buds although a bit crowded and Dampkring (Try the Kali Mist or the Stella Blue). Also in the RLD is the coffeeshop 36 which is one of the few places around serving spacecakes. Been There...Also for more info before you visit, go to www.coffeeshop.freeuk.com. That's what i did. |
