What is the perfect trip to Amsterdam? |
Travel Info My husband is turning 21 this year and im turning 21 next year. We want to plan a trip to Amsterdam, but I have never been there before on a trip. So I really want to plan it out perfect. I need to know where the best/popular coffee shops are, a nice hotel, and restaurants near by. I really dont want to travel farther than walking distance, unless there is a boat tour near by. If someone has been to Amsterdam, please help me plan my vacation. Thanks. Travel Tips I would suggest you buy a good guidebook for hotel, eating out and nightlife recommendations so that you can choose to do the things that interest you both the most (egs are museums, Anne Frank House, tour of the Heineken Brewery). And the notorious Red Light District, of course, which isn't Too sleazy! The main attractions in Amsterdam are all fairly central and easily walkable (though there is a good tram system). There are regular canal tours - including a night-time/dinner cruise -and day trips out of Amsterdam, which has good rail links. Others My small word of advise... the prostitutes in the windows of the red light districts will chase you if you try taking their pictures.... so don't do that. The best trip to Amsterdam is to get off the train and plan nothing. The city is so small you can walk through it in 20 minutes and have seen every restaurant and highlight. Unlike other cities where you go for this or that highlight, the highlight of Amsterdam is it's atmosphere. Planning something might mean you miss out on something else. |
