Im looking for hotels and other places in Amsterdam, but I dont understand their money. What is the amount of amsterdam money in usa money?

Holland and most of europe uses the EURO as its currency, the exact exchange rate varies from day to day is currently somewhere 1 euro = $ 1.34. Since most european shops already include value-added tax of somewhere around 12-15% an easy way to calculate is saying that a euro is approx. a dollar and forget the minute differences.

In Amsterdam they use the Euro. Today 1 Euro equals $1.33 cents or $1 equals .75 Euro cents. This changes day to day, and there are online calculators that will do this for you.

The Euro is like the dollar in many ways. The coins go 1 cent, 2 cents, 5 cents, 10 cents, 20 cents, 50 cents. There are also 1 Euro and 2 Euro coins. All of them are different sizes, and the first three look somewhat like our penny.

Don't be alarmed when you see different pictures of two of the same coins. 12 countries use the Euro, and since it is interchangable with the other countries you might get German, Austrian, French or Spanish Euros. You can still use them.

In bills the larger the demonination the larger the bill. The go 5 Euro, 10 Euro, 20 Euro, 50 Euro, 100 Euro, ect...up to I believe 500 Euro, which is a very large bill. They are also color coded. 5 Euro is blue, and 20 Euro is also blue, but it's a different shade. However they are different sizes so they are easy to distinguish.

I'm from the USA and went to Amsterdam 2 years ago. Amsterdam uses the Euro. Goto website www.xe.com for exchange rates. You can actually use ATM machines over there and withdraw Euros with your regular card. It's very handy. Safe travels!
