Train from Schipol to Norg?

As I get closer to getting over there - I am gonna be using up a bit of my questions -

I get in on Sunday and need a train from Schipol to Norg - there is a family park there that I will be staying at. I will have a car available to me from there.

Transportation advice?

I had never heard of this place either... It's a very small town near Assen...

You'll have to take a train from SchipHol to Amersfoort, change trains in Amersfoort, take the train from Amersfoort to Zwolle, change trains again in Zwolle, take the train from Zwolle to Assen and then a bus or taxi from Assen to Norg... This whole trip will probably take about 3 hours, if you're lucky.

Or you could just take a taxi from Schiphol but that will probably cost about 鈧?50... You might be able to find a taxi who will drive you there for less though...

Traintickets from Schiphol to Norg cost 鈧?5 for each adult and 鈧?5 for each child...and then there's bus fare or a taxi (probably 鈧?0 to 鈧?0)

sorry about the prices... the 鈧?might very well be a major reason for the Dutch grumpiness of the last several years... :(

I just checked, you can also rent a car at Schiphol for a day... that will cost you about 鈧?00, of course depending on what class it is... It's about 鈧?25 for a very reasonable compact and 鈧?3 for the very smallest which won't fit a lot of people with luggage though, I think...and it will have to be returned the next day... Other Travel Tips

You'll need to take the train to Assen (there are through trains or you may need to change at Amersfoort), then there may be a bus or you may need to take the 'lijntaxi' (sort of between a cab and a bus) to get to Norg, can't tell you exactly because I do not know where the family park is.

If you want to get the schedule, go to http://www.9292ov.nl and enter your destination. On top where it says 'Van' (from) select the 'treinstation' option and then enter 'Schiphol'. Below, where it says 'Naar' leave it at 'adres' (address) and enter the straat (street name), huisnr (number) and plaats (town, 'Norg'). Then select the date, time and whether this time is the time you're leaving Schiphol ('vertrek') or when you want to arrive at Norg ('aankomst'). Click the 'geef reisadvies' button and you'll get the entire travel schedule including train, bus and anything else you need. If you click 'kaart' at the bottom of this schedule you'll even get a map of the place.

(They really should have an English option at this site)

Since Norg is a pretty small village it may not be that easy to get right to the door by public transport. If you can afford it, it'd be easier to take a regular taxicab from Assen train station or see if someone can pick you up from there.

never heard of Norg no idea where it's at, maybe if you tell us what the park is called we could help you out. usually the park has their own site and will tell you how to get there
else call them up and ask them, that would be the best option i would think.

Norg is in the province of Drente, near Assen.

You can take the train from Schiphol to Amersfoort.
Change there for the train to Assen.

From Assen, there is something called "lijntaxi" that can take you to Norg.

Estimated travel time - 2 hours, 47 minutes.

If you take a car, estimated travel time is about 2 hours.
Optimal route is about 200 KM`s. With a taxi, that would be expensive.

Do you know what day / time you`ll be arriving ?
Sometimes there are road or railworks, which would make things difficult.

As an alternative - buy me dinner and i`d be happy to drive you ;)
