Also, lots of places to park them I went to Amsterdam in Feb Probably as many as there are people because it is the best way to get around this wonderfully compact city. Hi, I'm Dutch and a bike-rider, as we all are. Fact: there are more bikes than cars in Amsterdam, because every Dutch person has AT LEAST one bike. Not everyone has a car, but many people have more than one bike (like me). One old bike for going to the city center or for going out at night (no to much heartbreak when it gets stolen), and one good, pretty bike for taking a nice ride (that I would never park out of my sight).
