What local places are the best today. I was 22 when last in amsterdam in 1972 and had a great time with no money and a sense of adventure and exploration. Travel Tips In your case I would go to the museums about the Dutch colonial times: Historical ship museum (scheepvaartmuseum) Museum about the tropics (tropenmuseum) There is also a museum about photography. Talking about colonial times, ha ha: eating in an Indonesian restaurant is a bit of an adventure too. Ask for rijsttafel. Ask the tourist centre (VVV) Have fun! Source(s): I'm Dutch Other Travel Tips Make sure you get to the flower auction, people from all over the world come there to buy lots of flowers to ship all over the world, so fantastic and beautiful! I was going to tell you about the sex museums e.t.c but I guess you already know about these. There are some great Indonesian restaurants Go for a picturesque and relaxed walk past the Indonesian retaurants, past the pretty ladies resting in the windows, relax more at one of the cosy coffee and brownie bars and have a herbal smoke while you are there. Then, feeling even more relaxed stroll over into the red light district for some local traditional entertainment. Next day take a bus out to look at some tulip farms and windmills. Another day take a boat ride and see Anne Franks house. |
