Any information about the illustrator (Dutch ?),JC van Hunnik? |
Travel Info His work includes Delft tiles and childrens' books -possibly he lived in the early 1800's,and I believe in Holland. Travel Tips JC van Hunnik worked many years for Mulder & Son in Amsterdam (later called Mulder Holland). He made illustrations for plates, tiles, children's books, clouring books, serving trays, etc. He also designed for Ter Steege in Nijverdal, The Netherlands. Van Hunnik pictured fruit, cars, horses, birds, hot-air balloons, butterlflies, clowns, old Dutch images, windmills, tulip fields, etc. He also made portrets. Chiuldren's books "Mark en Mieke" with his illustrations were widely read and these days still populair at second hand book stores. He must have been active early 1900 / 1950 or so (not 1800). As a child, I read books with his illustrations. They are still available. Also his plates and tiles are offered through internet. Example of a JC van Hunnik plate at: http://www.marktplaza.nl/wandbord-j-c-va... There's a Mr. Chris van Hunnik with a HomePage: www.vanhunnik.net (genealogy). He might be able to help? Good luck!
