Could someone who lives in Amsterdam give me directions from Amsterdam Central to Roemer Visschestraat on foot

Travel Tips
Not Roemer Visschenstraat, not Roemer Visschestraat. The street is named Roemer Visscherstraat (after one of our famous authors).

It's a long but nice walk (if it's not raining):

- Amsterdam Central Train Station, main exit
- Straight ahead over the station square
- Keep going straight ahead (follow the crowd), and you will find yourself at the street named Damrak (water on your left, shops on your right)
- Keep going straight ahead, you will reach the Dam. This is the main square, with the monument on your left, and the palace on your right.
- Cross the square, still straight ahead. You now walk on the Rokin.
- Keep going straight ahead, after 100 meters there is water on your left
- Keep walking until halfway that canal, turn right, into the narrow Oliedragerssteeg, keep walking, the name changes into Heiligeweg.
- Cross the Spuistraat, cross the canal (Singel)
- Keep walking in the same direction, the street is now called Koningsplein, cross the canal (Herengracht)
- Keep going, the street is now called Leidsestraat
- Walk straight ahead, cross two more canals, keep walking, you will reach the Leidseplein (square with pubs and the theatre)
- Keep walking in the same direction, across the water (lots of traffic at the crossroad), cross the Stadthouderkade.
- You now enter the Vondelstraat
- Turn left after 50 meters, into the Tesselschadestraat.
- Turn right where the street bends ....... into the Roemer Visscherstraat.

(Or you take tram line 5 at the train station, get of at the Leidseplein and walk from there)

10 points please ;-) Source(s): Am Dutch

Other Travel Tips
This is the best way to show you, on a interactive map of Amsterdam. Fill in the name of the street, it is near the famous Leidseplein (Leidse square) in Amsterdam.

O, before I forget, the name of the street is roemer visschenstraat, not roemer visschestraat. Fill it in and there you are.
It's a LONG walk
