Travel Info I plan on visiting Amsterdam in early April. What clothes should I pack? Travel Tips Layering clothes. I was there in March a couple of years ago, and it was mostly chilly, but not too bad. April should be warmer, especially with the record temperatures lately. But you should come prepared. Definitely jeans, t-shirts (I prefer plain), a light rain jacket, European track shoes (not Nikes or Reebok), maybe a nice dress and shoes for a night out. They are very casual in Amsterdam, but they do have a definite style. Pack as lightly as possible, and perhaps buy clothes there. Others it can still be kind of cold during those days around 35 F maybe a little higher, you should keep checking the international weather report on Yahoo around that time, because with these strange weather changes these day you will never know, all of a sudden it might freeze for days, we have been having a very mild winter so far, but it can all change, nothing is as unpredictable as the weather specially that long in advance. but anyway, i wish you a very good time when you get here. always bring comfy shoes cause amsterdam you can do on foot. Rain coat, cardigans it can still be cold, hope you have good weather. April has it's own will, is a dutch saying concerning the weather. So anything can happen. Winter is just over and so you can expect cold, windy, rainy days, but some years April has this very nice spring breeze and sunshine. So bring some nice long sleeved shirts, short sleeved is going to be to cold, unless you are very lucky. So bring some warm sweaters to cover up and a jacket, especially at night you'll need it. LIGHT WOOLENS Okay April is usually the first lighter month, compared to their sad winters (compared to North America, they get no snow at all) so April tends to be/ or can be quite rainy otherwise it is usually pretty sunny but not sunny enough for a bikini or shorts, so still take jeans with you, long t-shirts, a couple of sweaters, comfy and fully closed shoes, although there may be a chance for you to put on some sandals. also its never a bad idea to bring a rain jacket. i used to live there |
