Hot spots in Amsterdam? |
Travel Info I am planning a trip to Amsterdam in October and I wanted to know about some hot spots for adults 25 - 35 years old? Is there an area of town that is popular (other than the red light district)? Travel Tips Yes, I was there last year, when I was 34. Besides the whole red light district and the coffeehouses, check out The Reijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and Anne Frank's house. Also check out other stuff like the Medieval Torture Museum, Vondel Park, Heineken Factory Tour, take a Canal boat trip, ride a bicycle around town, stroll through Rembrandt Square (a hippie flea market), see the Rembrandt Museum, stroll through the flower market, etc. Tons to do if you do your research! I hit the whole city in a week and half from to to bottom! Loved EVERY minute! Source(s): Personal Experience Other Travel Tips Anne Franke house. Sounds boring but it's really interesting. Dag Pixie (as they say overhere in Holland) I am a US guy living in Holland not too far away from Amsterdam. As the guy said in one of the previous answers; Amsterdam has lots to offer;museum wise yep The RIJKSMUSEUM/ RembrandHouse/ Van Goghmuseum. But Amsterdam is also about 'strolling' around; as you will see the city is really not big at all. Everything can be done walking OR if you'd like a "thrilling"experience: rent a bike (several places around the city to do so). You will see it is soemthing else. The streets are fun, lotsa places to just wander and explore: stop at a small cafe for a coffee and cake ! Do not know if you like beer; but there are really fun places where they sell 100 different kinds of beer (yep even fruitflavoured one). Around Ams there are several little villages TYPICALLY dutch (but VERY touristic as well) VOLENDAM/MARKEN/EDAM. You shouldnot be bored at all you will see and one thing is that almost everyone speaks english + if you feel 'lonely' there are several English speaking theatres/comedyclubs you can go to. So hope to see you in the audience overhere. Have a fun trip. DOEI !!! (popular way to say bye overhere) Terry |
