Do i need a travel insurance to go to the netherlands?

Travel Info
do i need it if im a US citizen and will be staying in the netherlands for 3 months. if i need it, where can i get it from?

Travel Tips
It would be recommended if you fall ill or injure yourself then it will cover your medical expenses which can be very costly, also there are other benefits such as loss insurance ETC.

Others
It would be a good idea for anyone to have travel insurance where ever they go, if you choose to have it.
You never know what could happen.

If you there for this long, the odds of having a problem in significantly increased.

Note - Medical insurance is not travel insurance and you need both generally.
Travel Insurance usually only covers the cost of travel should something beyond your control prohibits you from traveling. This will allow you to get back any non-reimbursed expenses. Your Medical insurance should cover you; however, talk with the medical insurance company to make sure. Many foreign companies may not take your insurance regardless so you may have to pay and then get reimbursed by your insurance. There are some travel medical insurance companies that will cover just the trip. Look and ask. Again, there are no guaranties the foreign country will accept the insurance. Ask the insurance company if Netherlands will.
very recommended, you can get it at your travel agency , that is where we usually get them at, it's a package you can get when you travel, or you can ask your insurance company that you have insurance at if they have travel packages for overseas coverage.

good luck and enjoy your stay here in my beautifull country
you don't really NEED it, but it does come in handy, in case you run in to damages.
It's not mandatory but it's really handy when something goes wrong. It's not that expensive so that's not really a reason not to do it. If I travel I always take a travel insurance from my bank, just one phone call. You can also get it with your travel agency or the company you fly with.

Enjoy your stay in the Netherlands!
It is always wise to have a travel insurance if you are from the US or not. Make sure you check with your health insurance that everyting is covered
